49 and Market Island Paradise Card 4 You
Hello…hello! Kim here with you today to share my third creation, 49 and Market Island Paradise Card 4 You, using the stunning ‘Island Paradise’ Collection from 49 and Market. I adore this collection with it’s beachy feel.
Today I have created a card….in fact it is a shaker card! Something a little different. Shaker cards are a lot of fun and it also gives you a chance to use up some product you might have laying around, like little beads or even small chipboard! I have used some awesome little pouches available from Anna’s. The MFT Accessory Circle Treat Pouches are lots of fun. This allows you to even put treats in your card as an extra little special treat for that special person!
(I haven’t added sweets to my project this time!!!!)
Let me show you my 49 and Market Island Paradise Card 4 You …..
So to start I had a square card base, next I took the 49 and Market ‘Island Paradise’ Colada Heaven paper and cut the criss-cross section out, just a fraction smaller than my card base as I want the base to from the other papers. I also fussy cut the sailing boat from this sheet as I know I wanted it on my project. Next I cut another of the quarter sections that looks like worn wood roughly 5 mm smaller than the criss-cross paper and then I machine stitched around the edge to add texture. I then positioned my circle die where I wanted it, (using a little washi tape to keep it in place.) Next I put it through the cuttlebug. As is often the case with scrapbooking, I thought I had the correct sized circular die for these little pouches, but no!!!
So, I had to improvise and over come! When I cut the circle out the pouches slipped right through, so using a scrap of 49 and Market paper and a larger die, I cut a larger circle then using a circle template I cut out a ring to fit over the hole and hold the pouch in place.
If you look under the circle template you can see the ring I have cut. I stuck this ring to the top of the worn wood paper and let it dry and then I stuck the pouch in place using 3D Gloss Gel. Once this was super dry I added a selection of bits to the pouch including some Artquest Mini Prills- Sweet Shoppe. I then carefully stuck down the criss-cross paper to the back of the pouch section, using a combination of Gloss Gel and double sided tape. Next I arranged a selection of 49 and Market Stargazers blooms in sky blue, lace, satin seam binding bow, my fussy cut sailing boat and a touch of chipboard and stuck these in place. I painted (with my finger), a few of the chipboard elements with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in powder blue. I placed a little (you don’t need much) of the Nuvo paste on my craft mat and added a touch of water, then mixed it with a palette knife, then I splattered a little around the card. I also smeared a little texture paste around as well.
Thanks for stopping by to view my 49 and Market Island Paradise Card 4 You. I do hope you have enjoyed looking at and reading about my crafty adventures….maybe you might like to have a go at a shaker card?
