Hello… Hello! Kim here with you, to share a Gift Tag I have created using the BEAUTIFUL, AB Studio Never-Never Land Collection.
For me this collection ticks a lot of boxes… fabulous quality papers, stunning floral designs and beautiful colours, to name just a few!
I am a big fan of creating gift tags, I love to (like my layouts,) add layers and height.
Let me share with you my project!
To start my tag I took some old flower packaging (the card that flowers often come stuck to) and I traced around that onto some thick cardboard. Using scissors I carefully cut around my traced lines.
Then I repeated the process, this time tracing around the packaging but on the AB Studio Never Never Land – Sheet 1 -Illusion. Taking a good glue I applied a generous amount then using a scrap of thick cardboard I spread the glue evenly and all over my base, then I stuck my paper to the base. Then I let it dry.
Once dry, using my scissors I distressed the edges of the tag.
I often use canvas on my projects, just purchased from a local cheap shop and in pad form, so I can just rip it out as needed. Below is a picture with the pieces I used for this tag.
- Base, 2. Canvas piece, 3. a piece of cardboard cut from a craft supply box, 4. A small piece of the AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 1 – Illusion, which I have sewn around the outer edge with my sewing machine, 5. 2 Circles of cardboard (to stick under number 6 -for height), 6 + 8. Are both Die cut circles and 7. is another piece of cardboard box to pop under number 8.
So to put this tag together I started with piece 1 then glue/stuck piece 2 down, grabbed piece 3 stuck it to the back of piece 4, then stuck/glued that in place (making sure I had even edges all way round). Next, I stuck both circles/disc’s from number 5 together and adhered them to the back of number 6. I Stuck this in place in the top half of my tag. I then stuck number 7 to the back of number 8 and added that to the tag, sticking down once I was happy with placement.
I then set about fussy cutting out some of the gorgeous flowers and blueberries from the AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 5 – A Wonderful Day and added these to my project. The leaves are cut from the bonus sheet you get with the full Never Never Land Collection. My tag needed a little more so I added a gorgeous flower from the Prima Darcelle Paper Flowers – Recollections
I then added some Prima Marketing Art Ingredients -Art Stones.
I also added a strip of lace and some satin seam binding bows to my tag.
To finish my tag off I grabbed a scrap of AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 1 – Illusion, cut it into a small rectangle, dove tailed the right side. Then I found a small piece of white cardboard, slightly smaller than the dove tailed piece, (I quickly went around the outer edge of this piece with my sewing machine, without thread in it….I know what your thinking, “She has waaay too much time on her hands….”) lol
I used the AB Studio Never Never Land paper description from the ‘A Wonderful Day’ sheet, cut that to size and added a thin strip of cardboard to the back and then stuck in place. And the final step was to splash a little watered down Liquitex Professional – Gesso over my project.
I do hope you have enjoyed reading about how my project came together?
The AB Studio Never – Never Land Collection in my opinion is a real show stopper…totally gorgeous as are all the AB Studio Collections
I shall return very soon with another project using this collection
Until Next Time
