Hello…hello, Kim here with you today to share the first of my projects created using the, very lovely AB Studio Collection, The Versailles.
A fabulous collection, trending away from the pastels to more blues and greens. Great for scrapping family photos.
Let me show you my layout!
After looking through the stunning papers in this collection I decided to use the AB Studio The Versailles -sheet 8 – Pretty Lady as the base of my layout. Next, I took the AB Studio The Versailles – sheet 5 – Little Inspiration and I gentle ripped the lower section of it to give me a rough edge and I trimmed the remaining 3 straight sides to show the base paper, once it was in position. Also distressing the edges.
I have had a 3 pack of 5×7 canvases in my stash for a while, so I decided to use one on this layout. I really liked the blues and greens in this collection so I decided to paint the little canvas a combination of the two colours and then add some detail through a Prima Stencil using some Nuvo Crackle Mousse in Egyptian Gold.
Now, I did dry this with a heat gun but in hindsight I should have left it to dry naturally. While I had the stencil and mousse out I also added some texture to The Versailles sheet 5 [Stripe paper].
I then stuck sheet #5 to my base and began to build my page, adding the dried canvas, photo and then adding Prima Georgia Blues Mulberry Paper Flowers – Wilcox with Stencil, [This is the stencil I have used on my canvas board], muslin/cheesecloth and also adding lots of fussy cut leaves and elements from the AB Studio The Versailles – Sheet 4 – Lucky To Be
I also added in some simple lace below the photo and I also tucked some in around my layout.
I love buttons so I added a couple of those. Next I added a little colour, using some watered down acrylic paint and a water brush pen, just until I was happy with the depth of colour. Using the same technique I added just a smidge of green.
I then glued my Annabelle Acrylic Title – Just Hanging Out in place. I added a Prima – Georgia Blues – Vellum Butterflies – Warren and a little detail just above it. My final touch was to glue down some Prima Marketing Art Ingredients – Art Stones White
I hope you have enjoyed reading about how I put this layout together?
The AB Studio The Versailles Collection is a total stunner with endless possibilities!!!
I will be back soon to share another creation using this fabulous collection
Until next time
