One Awesome Dude | The Versailles | AB Studio | Kim Ewins

Hello All…

Today I have my second layout created using the versatile, AB Studio Collection, The Versailles.

My layout, today shows you just how adaptable it is. Let me show you my layout!

This layout features my eldest grandson, Flynn.

To create this layout I took the AB Studio – The Versailles -sheet6 – At the Ball to use as my base. Next I grabbed The Versailles -sheet 2 – Golden Gate & carefully ripped it in half, (not in a straight line, but sort of curved.) I then stuck this to the lower half of my base paper. I didn’t line up the bottom straight edge, instead I left a little of the base paper showing.

Next I decided where I wanted my photo to sit. I had a scrap of  AB Studio – The Versailles – sheet 5 – Little inspiration that I wanted to use up, so I used it as a matt for under my photo.

To begin with I laid it on my base and I took some Nuvo – Crackle Mousse in Egyptian Gold and added it through a brick stencil. I then let this dry naturally. Now this looked a little too flat for me so I added some thick (box) cardboard to the back of my matt and stuck it in place. Then I added more thick cardboard to the back of my photo and stuck that down.

I then set about fussy-cutting lots of leaf elements from the sheet of AB Studio The Versailles – sheet 4 – Lucky to Be and arranging them around my photo and along the ripped edge. Once happy with placement I stuck them in place. I also added in leaves/vines from flower packs.

To carry on the gold theme a little, I cut up some lace from my stash and stuck that down, along the lower edge of the layout I stapled some natural twine and also a narrow piece of ribbon.

For my title I used some very old alpha’s (which had lost their stickiness, so I glued them down).  I also used the Annabelle Acrylic Title – Awesome Dude – in black.

To help blend it in a bit, using my fingertip I smeared some of the Nuvo – Crackle Mousse over the title. Once dry I stuck it in place using some glue.
