Melinda here again with the last of my creative projects to showcase using the beautiful and versatile Carta Bella ‘Rock a Bye Baby Boy’ collection.
As soon as I saw these papers and embellishments I knew I wanted to put together some cards for some special little boys as well as my layouts and that I would have to figure out how to make that work.
To make the first card I tore and rolled the edges of the matting papers (these are the middle segments out from my third layout), and then stitched these together on my sewing machine. I then stitched on a tag, adhered two strips of patterned paper topped with a sheet of white embossed yardstick. I finished the card off with foam mounted rattle and safety pin stickers and a tag from the ephemera kit which I distressed the edges of, and finally some enamel dots.
To make the second card I cut a piece of white cardstock just a bit smaller than the card base. I then adhered two offcuts of paper to this to completely cover it, trimmed off the excess and stitched around the edges.
I added a paper fan, a foam mounted safety pin sticker, a chipboard sticker and some enamel dots to finish it off. Nothing too fancy, but a sweet baby boy card nonetheless.
For my final card I embossed some white cardstock using the cuttlebug and a star embossing template. I joined these two pieces of paper with a strip of patterned paper, added part of a white doily from my stash, and stitched around the edges before adhering it to the card. I then added the last paper fan, the cute as a button sticker mounted with foam tape, and used the enamel shapes to write ‘it’s a baby boy’. For this card I also added a bit of the doily, a patterned paper flag, and a sticker to the envelope.
Again, a fairly simple, but quick and effective card for a special little baby boy who will be arriving very soon.
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the layouts and cards I’ve created. I have had great fun playing with this collection. Thank you to Anna’s for this fantastic opportunity as a Guest Designer.
Have a great day, Melinda
