Cocoa Vanilla Midnight Layout Family Adventure
Hello, hello and welcome to the Anna’s blog for another share of mine, my Cocoa Vanilla Midnight Layout Family Adventure! I hope you are enjoying all of these pages as much as I enjoyed making them to share!
Today I have another scrapbook page to share and this one is titled Family Adventure and once again I have used the Midnight collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studios. I hope you like!
I have used 3 patterned papers for my background design and none of them is a whole piece of 12×12. I have actually used a piece of cardstock for my base as I didn’t want to “waste” the other side of that gorgeous striped paper called Bloom and Grow as it has those gorgeous florals on it! The other 2 patterns are called Inky Depths and Moonlight and I have used a thin strip of each which I have torn using a ruler. The big center piece is the other side of the Moonlight patterned paper.
For this page I created my own colour to match the beautiful blues in this collection by mixing a navy and a black water colour and comparing that to the papers. You could easily replicate this with any mist, inks, colour powders or anything you have in your stash that is colour! I have used the packaging technique after applying a light coat of white gesso with a dry brush where I was going to have my main cluster.
When that was dry I added some splatters in the blue I had created, gold and some pink to match.
From here my layout came together very easily. I knew I was working on a center design and what I wanted for my title so added some tissue paper behind my photo and chose one of the cut aparts from the Mixed Blessing paper to hold my title and journalling. I roughed up the edges of my journalling card and built my title using a combination of the Die Cut Title pieces (the “family” piece) and a stamp which I stamped using the beautiful Spun Sugar Distress Oxide.
As a side note, I have once again used a stamp from my stash but the awesome Title Builder Vol 2 stamp set also has a bunch of words in all different fonts and sizes to create custom titles that you can just use the stamps for or even add in die cuts or chipboard pieces to build your title. I just love the flexibility this set gives and it was the first one I looked at when working on this page!
I added a couple of the cut aparts from the All The Things patterned paper, the chipboard banner from the chipboard pack as well as some hearts and a “love you” banner with a couple of the phrase stickers from the accessory sticker sheet and a label sticker to finish off my page.
One last final touch, some more gold sprinkles and my Cocoa Vanilla Midnight Layout Family Adventure is done!
You can see my whole process (yes, ANOTHER process video!!) for this page on the below link.
