Hey everyone and welcome back to the blog for my final share using Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Legendary collection. I have created another 12×12 layout and this one is called “Love You.”
As you can see I challenged myself to scrap a couple of girl photos! Now, I know this collection is “masculine” but there’s nothing saying you can’t use it for anything really!!
Starting with the “Wild One” 12×12 paper for my background (I could no longer resist!!), my 2 photos and my title – created with the Die Cut Tiles and a Clear Sticker – I started creating! My photos were getting a little lost by themselves using scissors I hand cut a heart with white cardstock. In choosing white card I could add colour using some Lindy’s Magical Shakers.
I used 3 colours from my collection – Guten Tag Teal, Time Travel Teal and Bavarian Blue. Firstly I spritzed my heart with water and then sprinkled on the colours, one at a time. I used a paint brush and more water to dissolve the powders and get the colour to move and blend.
I had one idea after another lol so dried that off with my heat tool. Next up was some stamping. Nothing fancy or precise but I used black and grey archival ink to add texture to the heart. With my photo’s place onto the heart and the heart onto the background I felt I needed another layer! This time I grabbed the 12×12 “All Star” paper and cut a heart slightly bigger than my mixed media heart to layer behind.
And then the next idea – hand stitching!! I used grey floss and did a chain link stitch around the edge of the mixed media heart and just love the texture it adds to my page!
Now that I had all of the main elements of my page ready to go I stuck the hearts, photos and title down. Then onto some embellishing!
Deciding to work in a visual triangle I chose to focus on the yellow from the 6×8 Paper Stack. I added that in 3 places around the main elements. Starting with a small rectangle to the left behind my journalling box – from the cut apart in the 6×8 Paper Stack. A small piece tucked between the hearts and under a banner (from the die cut ephemera) on the top right. And finally another hand cut heart to the bottom right of my photos.
With all of the pieces on that I wanted, my story on the page and really showing off that “Wild One” paper I was really happy to add the finishing touches. These were some Clear Stickers, a couple of stickers from the Accessory Stickers and some white splatters all around. Oh, and some enamel dots!!!
I had so much fun actually USING my favourite paper from this range! I challenge you to use your favourites!
