Hello there Anna’s friends!! Melinda here with you today sharing the first of my projects that I have created with the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Legendary collection!
I had a lot of fun with this one and I am really excited to share! I’m scrapping these 5 photos of my nephew and I from last year!
Starting with the “One Way” 12×12 patterned paper for my background I applied a thin coat of white gesso. Making sure to blend out the edges using my fingers so I was left with no harsh lines.
Using 2 different yellow mists from my stash I have sprayed the colour over the gesso. Using a combination of turning the page and a wet paintbrush I have moved the colour around. After this was dry I wanted some contrast so I used a grey mist and did the exact same thing in 2 places.
I made the 4 little photos into a photo strip adhering them onto white card stock. Adding a couple of layers behind the bigger photo using the 6×8 Paper Stack really made that photo a feature! To add some dimension I have mounted those all on foam.
Before starting this page I had chosen my title from the Die Cut Titles pack. With that, I now had a background, photos and title placement ready to go so onto the fun stuff!
I’ve added another layer behind the big photo with the frame from the die cut ephemera pack – I love what that pop of wood grain adds to the page! Using the ephemera pack I have built up 2 clusters – one to the top left of the photos and the other to the bottom right of the photos. Wanting to add some more wood grain I used one of the 6×8 papers to punch a couple of labels.
With so many paper layers I wanted to add something different for interest. First I reached for one of the flair buttons. And then some thread in orange to match my colours, which I have added in 3 places.
To finish off I wanted to lighten things a little so after adding my journalling in white I also added in some white splatters from the top left to bottom right diagonal.
This page was super fun to put together, but lets face it, the Legendary collection is super fun!! Zoe has once again created another AMAZING “boy” collection!! Make sure you head to the store before it all sells out!
Until next time, happy scrapping,
