Every now and then I like to mix things up by creating a smaller sized layout this one is 8.5×11 inches. I have used the paper which has stripes of each design on one paper and cut at 8.5×11 inches. I fussy cut the two large pink roses from another paper and added to the top left and bottom right of my layout. These large and bright coloured elements provide a stark contrast against a ‘busy’ paper.
I next added my photo matting it on a plane pink paper (agin not wanting to add another ‘busy’ element) I added the photo with foam tape knowing I wanted to add elements underneath. I fussy cut some small roses from the cut a-part paper and added them under my photo. I added some fussy cut leaves cascading down to meet the larger rose (this links them).
On the opposite side of my photo I added a fussy cut heart from the cut a-part and a hand punched butterfly which I layered by punching two and using foam tape to adhere them.
I chose the ‘be you’ title which was perfect for the theme of my layout and photo of my daughter. I added another butterfly just under the ‘be you’ title to draw your eye to it (which is important if it is white).
I finished off adding another butterfly keeping to the rule of thirds, and some phrase sentiments. I love the colours of this layout and remember you can use a ‘busy’ background paper with careful consideration of your other elements/papers.
Thanks for your time today!
