Hi crafty friends today I have my last share using the Super Cool collection by Pinkfresh studio. I have really enjoyed creating boy themed layouts!
I used the Highlight paper as my base paper, the challenge being creating an embellishment cluster that didn’t get lost against this phrase/word paper. I cut two stars, one slightly bigger than the other using Choir paper using the grid side and a leftover strip from the Fun Times paper and again the grid strip. I machine stitched a messy circle in black slightly larger than the stars. Then I attached the stars, overlapping each other with foam tape.
I cut two frames from the Bright Side paper (one with a phrase on it), and attached to the star, the top one with foam tape to create a 3D effect, I added my photo on an angle. I machine stitched the top of the frames (where it looks like washi tape at the top).
Now for the fun part, embellishing! I wanted to draw the eye to the photo, so all my embellishments were focused in towards my photo.
I have used a combination of the ephemera die cuts, puffy stickers and cardstock stickers. I layered a lot of the embellishments and used bright colours to contrast against my chosen base paper. Some embellishments I tucked under the star (which is another great advantage to using foam tape, you can tuck elements under later, adding to your design) and others I used foam tape to add height, all these design elements avoid your layout looking ‘flat’.
I finished off my layout by adding a splatter of Dylusions black ink spray
I hope you have enjoyed seeing some teenager and boy themed layouts, this collection being perfect! Thank you for stopping by and Super Cool is available now in store. Until the next time…
