October Afternoon

Step x step – An interview layout by Fran Tynan

Step x step – An interview layout by Fran Tynan

For a different idea for a LO why not try interviewing someone in your
family – your kids are generally the most entertaining but any age would be
a great thing to document.

Materials:

  • October Afternoon Campfire ‘Sleeping Bag’ paper
  • October Afternoon Campfire Label Stickers
  • October Afternoon Campfire Word stickers
  • October Afternoon Campfire alpha stickers
  • Masking tape
  • Spiral border punch

Step One: Print out your interviews on different papers – use ‘background’ type ones
that have a slight design but not too much to overpower the journaling. Cut
your papers to about 20cm x 10 cm to print out your answers but then cut
them to slightly different lengths.

Step Two: Using a border punch or normal hole punch to make them look like notepaper.
Adhere them to your page slightly askew. My background paper is October
Afternoon Campfire-‘Sleeping Bag’.

Step Three:  Add your title to the page – either the name of the interviewee or the
subject of what you are asking. I’ve used Oct Afternoon ‘Campfire’ alpha
stickers.

Step Four:  Add some random masking tape and stitching around the edges of your
journaling and edges of the page.

Step Five:  Add some October Afternoon word stickers and label stickers. And a tip if
you’re a scrooge like me – when using file tab stickers like these ones or
the Basic Grey ones: chop them in half and then you have 2.

Step Six:  You can easily do this without photos but I decided to add small ones of my
children.

All done!
