Simple Stories Bliss Layout Total Bliss with Step x Step by Tania Ridgwell

Simple Stories Bliss Layout Total Bliss with Step x Step

Hello there and welcome to my first post for April my Simple Stories Bliss Layout Total Bliss with Step x Step!  This month I thought I would start off with a step x step on how I created my first layout…….   I had fun working with the gorgeous Simple Stories Bliss Collection.

Material Used:

Simples Stories Bliss Collection HERE

Dylusions Sprays HERE

Kaisercraft Waffle Stencil

Texture Punch

Edge Punch

Edge Distrissing Tool

Fussy Cutting Scissors

49 and Market Flowers HERE

I started by getting a little punch happy with an edge punch, any will do.  I didn’t punch all the edges, but instead punched out a little bit here and there.  I then roughly distressed all the edges including where I had punched too.  Once I was happy I mounted the paper onto some white cardstock.

Here is a close up of some of the punched edging.

Next it was time to get messy!!!!  First up I added some texture using Kaisercraft’s Waffle stencil.

Simple Stories Bliss Layout Total Bliss with Step x Step

Once dry I added colour using Dylusions sprays.  I did remove some of the colour with a baby wipe so it was not quite as bright.  When this was dry I used a Kaisercraft Texture stamp and randomly added a bit of stamping to the background.

It was now time to add some layers.  I cut a few pieces of patterned papers and added them to the background.

Gave the papers a spray of colour to tone in with the background.

I then added more colour by removing the lids of the mists and flicking it on with the nozzle.  I also added some black too.

Simple Stories Bliss Layout Total Bliss with Step x Step

I added a little more texture to the background using some washi tape, tearing uneven pieces and sticking them in different directions on the layered papers.

I then added my photo which I matted on some white cardstock.

I fussy cut some butterflies and finished my page by adding lots of gorgeous 49 & Market Flowers and matching embellishments.

My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday by Kathy Tanner

My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday

Hello!  It’s Briony here… before we share Kathy’s weekly creation with you, I have the very sad job of  announcing that this is Kathy’s last post with us.   I would like to thank Kathy for being a part of our family here at Anna’s, for all the time she generously gave to us and the absolutely STUNNING creations she shared.  Your inspiration and talent will be sorely missed Kathy… xx

****************************************************

Hi it’s Kathy here, with a My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday using one of my favourite MFT stamps of all time, Otterly Love You.

I think anyone would find these otters cute, but as otters are my favourite animal, I really, really LOVE them and I just HAD to have this set!!!

This is the first time I’ve played with the gorgeous otters and I had lots of fun!  It’s an older MFT stamp set but new to me 🙂

My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday

I coloured one of the otters from the set with copics and cut him out.  He looked very cute already but I decided to make him look like he was celebrating a birthday by borrowing some stamps from other sets.

I borrowed the cake from the MFT Happy Hippos stamp set and the balloon from the MFT Birthday Chicks set.  I coloured them with copics and cut them out too.  Then I cut along the fur line of the otters head and along the lines for the otters arm/paw.  This meant that I could tuck the cake and balloon in behind his paw as though he was holding them. Or that he is holding the balloon and the cake is resting on his tummy.  The cake hides where I have cut.

I made the panel with the waves using a few different blue Distress Inks.  I created a stencil for the waves from an old MFT die I have called Surf and Turf.  You could do something similar with a hill die too.  I simply used it on some card to create a template and then used different inks and the mini blending tool to create the waves.  For each wave, I alternated both the colours and the depth of the wave.  Then I flicked on some water droplets.

I stamped the sentiment from the Otter set onto the Kraft card base.  I drew some lines on a white matt with a black fineliner and attached the blue panel to it.  Then I flicked some Dylusions White Linen paint over everything.  I also added a few dots of Ranger white enamel accents and popped the party otter up with some dimensionals.

I think this birthday otter made a great male card (and they can be tricky)!  My next challenge will be to make a cuter, more “girly” one.  There are some very cute and sweet sentiments in this set, so actually I don’t think it will be much of a challenge at all.

My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday

To be honest, I just want to play around with these otters some more 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my My Favourite Things Card Have an Otterly Great Birthday and get to create something with a stamp you love this week too 🙂
