7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags by Kim Ewins

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags

Hello there! Kim here to share with you my 7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags. These are a couple of gift tags I’ve created using the stunning 7 Dots Studio collection ‘Garden Party’

Teamed with some gorgeous ‘Green Tara’ flowers, some background texture, using The Crafter’s Workshop stencils and a touch of colour from Lindy’s Magical Shakers, these tags came together quite nicely!

Let me show you…..7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags

To create the base for these 7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags I used thick black cardboard. I used the backing sheet you get in packaged flowers (I think it was from Prima?) This gives you a great basic tag shape. I then cut two pieces of 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Dreamy paper, (striped side). Keeping in mind I wanted plenty of the black cardboard showing around all sides.

I wanted a bit of background texture so a took a TCW stencil – Distressed Details and some texture paste & went in on the 7 Dots paper. Once the texture paste was dry I took a small amount of Lindy’s Magical Shaker in Polka Purple and a little water and made awash to paint over the dry textured areas.

Once everything was dry I machine stitched around both textured pieces.

For the first tag….. I really liked the mushroom sticker from the 7 Dots Element Stickers Sheet….so, I stuck it on some black cardstock and then cut it out, leaving a few millimetres around the edge to match in with the tag. I then added a few blooms from Green Tara assorted flowers and also some gorgeous Artquest mini prills in I Cannot Tell a Lilac . Finally a few splatters of left over Polka Purple wash & also a splatter of black ink. I then decided to add a sticker from the 7 Dots Studio Word Sticker Sheet, just to complete tag number one.

For tag number two I again used some lace, Artquest Mini Prills, Green Tara flowers, but I also used some of the elements from the 7 Dots ‘Knotty’ 12 x 12 sheet. Fussy cutting that beautiful fairy/ballerina out and also the pretty butterfly tag. I also added a satin seam binding double bow….just to make it extra pretty!

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags

I added another of the 7 Dots Studio Word Stickers just to keep all things equal between my 7 Dots Studio Garden Party Tags ….haha!

Lastly a few splatters of black ink and some Lindy’s Gang Magical Shaker Polka Purple.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine by Kim Ewins

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine

Hello, dear crafty friends! Kim here, today to share with you all my 7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine. This is my 2nd layout using the beautiful, ‘Garden Party’ collection from 7 Dots Studio.

With this layout I tried to keep the colours very simple, with the view of making my black and white photo stand out. This layout features my daughter, Madison. Madi is currently at University and we are missing her very much!

Let me show you my layout, ‘Blossom and Shine’

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine

I started with the 12×12 sheet of 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Fairy Lights paper as my base. Next I grabbed the 7 Dots,  ‘Garden Gnomes’ paper and I measured roughly 16cm in from the left of the paper, top and bottom & trimmed. I wanted all the gorgeous details on this paper to be centre stage….so to speak! I ripped & distressed the left-hand side of the ‘Garden Gnomes’ paper & ripped a little of the right-hand bottom corner. I then stuck this piece in place with some double-sided tape. I decided to add a little background texture to the ‘Fairy Lights’ section of my background paper, using TCW template Distressed Details & a little texture paste. After the texture paste was dry I used a blending tool and black distress ink and went over some of the textured areas. I also went around the outer edges of my layout with the blender and black ink.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine

I matted my photo using the piece I had cut from the 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Garden Gnomes paper, I also distressed the edges of my matt. I then stuck this in position.

Next I took the 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Born and fussy cut a lot of butterflies out of the sheet. I did use a lot of the butterflies or half butterflies from the sides of the paper, also cutting a few full butterflies out as well. I stuck the majority of the butterflies under and around the centre of the layout/down the meeting of the two sheets of 7 Dots papers. Taking some Floral Mixology blooms from 49 and Market, I added a few blooms around my layout. I also added some old beads I had laying around.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Blossom and Shine

Taking some Lindy’s Gang Magical Shaker in Cathedral Pines Green & a little water I made a little wash to paint and splash around my project, once this was dry I then splattered a little black ink around as well.

For my title I used elements from the 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Element stickers and the & 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Word Stickers. To finish off my layout I decided to run a line of machine stitching around my project…..and because I like things to not be so perfect I used my scissors to break the stitching in a few places & unpick it a little!

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty by Kim Ewins

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty

Hello creative friends! Kim here to share with you today my 7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty. This is my first layout created using the stunning ‘Garden Party’ Collection from 7 Dots Studio!

A simply gorgeous range of papers in true 7 Dots style.

The colours worked perfectly for this photo of my daughter, Madison and teamed with some pretty 49 and Market flowers, prills and a touch of background stencil work, I really liked the end result.

Let me show you my layout……

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty

To create this layout I first decided roughly where I wanted my photo to sit on the piece of 7 Dot Studio ‘Garden Party’ Annual paper. Next a took a paint brush and thinly painted a little gesso around the area I planned to position my photo and other elements…..so it just shows a little!

Once that was dry I then mixed a little black paint with some texture paste and then using TCW 6×6 Distressed Details template, I went in and added some background detail.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty

Once that was nice and dry I then took some of the 7 Dots Studio- Element stickers and stuck the strips down to the far left of where my photo would be positioned. I also used a few of the tags from the 7 Dots Studio Tags 12×12 sheet under my photo. I also cut the ‘Fairy Whispers’ element from the ‘Knotty’ paper and arranged it under my photo, distressing the top edges. I added some corrugated cardboard (from an old box) and stuck that to the back of my photo, giving my photo a little height and dimension also allowing me to tuck things in the layers behind.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty

Taking the 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Dreamy paper I fussy cut out one of the white flowers.

I then stuck some muslin down and arranged my layers of lace and other elements, including some elements from the 7 Dots Studio Die-cut Elements sheet and also the fussy cut flower. I then added some beautiful 49 and Market blooms and some gorgeous ‘I Cannot Tell a Lilac’ Prills.

7 Dots Studio Garden Party Layout Beauty

I splattered a little white and black watered down paint around. Using some Lindy’s Magical Shaker in Polka Purple and a touch of water I made a little wash to splatter around my layout. Lastly I added a Word Sticker from the 7 Dots Studio ‘Garden Party’ Word Sticker sheet, that I thought suited my layout and added in some journalling.

Kaisercraft Wonderland Layout Tis The Season by Rachael Funnell

Kaisercraft Wonderland Layout Tis The Season

Hello!!!! Rach with you and my final share for this month my Kaisercraft Wonderland Layout Tis The Season. I have loved using the beautiful christmas themed collection Kaisercraft – Wonderland…. This layout featuring my son photo taken back in 2012 (when he was still keen for his mum taking photos.. lol!)

‘Tis the season’

Kaisercraft Wonderland Layout Tis The Season

I started with the ‘Chilled’ paper as my background piece, adding some stamping using the Kaisercraft triangle stamp & white gesso…  then tearing the top & bottom of the ‘Snowfall (the circle) paper and attaching this onto Chilled paper, and just having just the top & bottom of the Chilled paper exposing some of that stamping…  Then added some more stamping onto the ‘Snowfall (the circle) paper with Kaisercraft triangle stamp, but this time with black ink….

Kaisercraft Wonderland Layout Tis The Season

The Speciality paper snowflake was super cute & I just had to find a way to incorporate it into my page, So I cut away the tips of the snowflake & attach this, before adding my matted photo…..

Inspired by those circles I decided to cut out a few of the circles from the left over pieces & with foam tape attach the circles…. The quote strip is from the also from the ‘Snowfall paper’
