AB Studio | Never-Never Land | For You Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

Hello all… Kim here with you today to share my final project using the SUPER STUNNING

AB Studio Never -Never Land Collection

If you like flowers this will be a collection for you!!!

For my final project I have created a Gift Tag

Let me show you…

acc abstudio n n land gift tag2 199x300 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | For You Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

To create this tag I first cut a base from thick cardboard. You can get really thick cardboard from Officeworks. The one I have been using of late is around 4mm in thickness.

I covered the  base of my tag with the AB Studio Never-Never Land Sheet 7 – Shine. Once this was totally dry I went over the outer edge and over the sides of my tags with some Liquitex Professional White Gesso and waited until it was dry.

Next I took the AB Studio Never-Never Land Sheet 1 – Illusion and fussy cut some of the gorgeous soft peachy-pink flowers with leaves out. I added some cardboard to the back of these large blooms and once happy with placement stuck them down. I fussy cut smaller flowers, buds and blueberries from the AB Studio Never-Never Land Sheet 5 – A Wonderful Day and the leaves were cut from the Bonus sheet available with the full collection of papers.

I thought my tag was still looking a little plain so I tucked in a paper doily, some gauze/muslin and I decided to add a die cut.

This one is a Kaisercraft Decorative Die called Berry Vine.

For the sentiment, I cut it from the AB Studio Never-Never Land Sheet 4 – CraftLand

I trimmed it from the sheet and then cut some thick white cardboard, which I dove tailed on the right hand side, covered it with some ribbon from my stash then positioned & stuck the sentiment in place. Lastly I punched a hole in the top centre of my tag and added ribbon, the same ribbon that I used earlier.

AB Studio | Never Never Land | Sunshine And Smiles | Kim Ewins

Hello again, Kim here to share with you my layout ‘Sunshine & Smiles’

I have used the fabulous AB Studio Collection ‘Never Never Land’ papers and some AB Studio Chipboard.

Let me show you my layout, then I will describe how I put it together.

{Sunshine & Smiles}

ACC ADstudio Never Never Land Lo2 269x300 - AB Studio | Never Never Land | Sunshine And Smiles | Kim Ewins

For this layout I started with the AB Studio Never- Never Land – Sheet 6 – Stronger Together. I used this as my base paper. Next, I grabbed the AB Studio Never Never Land – Sheet 8 – I Believe. I then trimmed 2cm from adjoining sides or 1cm from each of the 4 sides.

Taking the ‘ I Believe’ paper, starting about 1/3 of the paper down, I started to tear the paper on the diagonal, leaving the bottom right of the paper in tact. I then distressed the straight sides of the ‘I Believe’ piece and then stuck it in place on my base paper.

Next I added in a little background texture with a stencil and some texture paste, then allowed that to dry. I then decided on where my photo should sit. I trimmed my photo and stuck a piece of cardboard to the back of my photo, and glued it in place.

Next I added some gorgeous lace & stuck that down.Above and below my photo.

My next step was to add the lovely AB Studio Chipboard pieces and once happy with placement, I stuck them down. My main flower cluster follows the torn edge of the AB Studio Never – Never Land – I Believe paper. I then added a selection of flowers and leaves. The flowers are cut from the AB Studio Never – Never Land  Sheet 5 – A Wonderful Day and the leaves are cut from the bonus sheet which comes with the full collection. I also added in a small cluster at the top right of my photo. Also adding in some beautiful flowers from the Prima Darcelle Paper Flowers- Recollections.

ACC ABstudio N N Land lo2cu3 201x300 - AB Studio | Never Never Land | Sunshine And Smiles | Kim Ewins

I always love a bit of machine stitching, so I decided to run 2 lines of stitching around my project. 1 around the base paper, roughly 1/2 cm in from all sides and the second, around the straight sides of my top (torn) paper.

The next thing I did was to swipe (using the edge of my finger) a little gesso around the outer edge of my photo and around some of my fussy cut blooms. I also decided to add just a touch more pink to my layout, over the background texture I added earlier. For this I used a water brush and some Dylusions Ink Spray in Rose Quartz. I  squirted a little spray into the lid added a few drops of water from my brush pen then I went in and added colour where I wanted it. Lastly I added the gorgeous Annabelle ‘Sunshine & Smiles’ title and 2 of the very cute hearts.

AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

Hello… Hello! Kim here with you, to share a Gift Tag I have created using the BEAUTIFUL, AB Studio Never-Never Land Collection.

For me this collection ticks a lot of boxes… fabulous quality papers, stunning floral designs and beautiful colours, to name just a few!

I am a big fan of creating gift tags, I love to (like my layouts,) add layers and height.

Let me share with you my project!

ACC ABstudio N N land Gift tag 205x300 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

To start my tag I took some old flower packaging (the card that flowers often come stuck to) and I traced around that onto some thick cardboard. Using scissors I carefully cut around my traced lines.

acc nnl 300x225 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

Then I repeated the process, this time tracing around the packaging but on the AB Studio Never Never Land – Sheet 1 -Illusion. Taking a good glue I applied a generous amount then using a scrap of thick cardboard I spread the glue evenly and all over my base, then I stuck my paper to the base. Then I let it dry.

acc nnl2 225x300 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

Once dry, using my scissors I distressed the edges of the tag.

I often use canvas on my projects, just purchased from a local cheap shop and in pad form, so I can just rip it out as needed. Below is a picture with the pieces I used for this tag.

  1. Base, 2. Canvas piece, 3. a piece of cardboard cut from a craft supply box, 4. A small piece of the AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 1 – Illusion, which I have sewn around the outer edge with my sewing machine, 5. 2 Circles of cardboard (to stick under number 6 -for height), 6 + 8. Are both Die cut circles and 7. is another piece of cardboard box to pop under number 8.

acc nnl4 225x300 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

So to put this tag together I started with piece 1 then glue/stuck piece 2 down, grabbed piece 3 stuck it to the back of piece 4, then stuck/glued that in place (making sure I had even edges all way round). Next, I stuck both circles/disc’s from number 5 together and adhered them to the back of number 6. I Stuck this in place in the top half of my tag. I then stuck number 7 to the back of number 8 and added that to the tag, sticking down once I was happy with placement.

ACC ABstudio N N land gift tag cu1 300x199 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

I then set about fussy cutting out some of the gorgeous flowers and blueberries from the AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 5 – A Wonderful Day and added these to my project. The leaves are cut from the bonus sheet you get with the full Never Never Land Collection. My tag needed a little more so I added a gorgeous flower from the Prima Darcelle Paper Flowers – Recollections

I then added some Prima Marketing Art Ingredients -Art Stones.

I also added a strip of lace and some satin seam binding bows to my tag.

ACC ABstudio N N land gift tag1cu2 166x300 - AB Studio | Never-Never Land | Wonderful Day Gift Tag | Kim Ewins

To finish my tag off I grabbed a scrap of AB Studio Never Never Land – sheet 1 – Illusion, cut it into a small rectangle, dove tailed the right side. Then I found a small  piece of white cardboard, slightly smaller than the dove tailed piece, (I quickly went around the outer edge of this piece with my sewing machine, without thread in it….I know what your thinking, “She has waaay too much time on her hands….”) lol

I used the AB Studio Never Never Land  paper description from the ‘A Wonderful Day’ sheet, cut that to size and added a thin strip of cardboard to the back and then stuck in place. And the final step was to splash a little watered down Liquitex Professional – Gesso over my project.

I do hope you have enjoyed reading about how my project came together?

The AB Studio Never – Never Land Collection in my opinion is a real show stopper…totally gorgeous as are all the AB Studio Collections

I shall return very soon with another project using this collection

Until Next Time

AB Studio | Never – Never Land | US Layout | Kim Ewins

Hello Hello dear crafty friends, Kim here with you today to share a layout created with the truly stunning, AB Studio Never-never Land!

If you love flowers, this collection would be perfect! My layout today features plenty of fussy cut flowers, layers, a little touch of lace, a few handmade rosettes and some Annabelle Acrylic elements!

Let me show you my layout, titled ‘US’

ACC ABstudio N N land LO1 262x300 - AB Studio | Never - Never Land | US Layout | Kim Ewins

After looking through this gorgeous collection I knew I wanted to use the AB Studio ‘Never-never Land’ – sheet 8 – ‘I Believe’ as my base paper. I then took the AB Studio ‘Never Never Land’ – sheet 2 ‘Sunny Days’ and I fussy cut the flowers from this piece. I also cut the strip sitting under my photo…it roughly measures 18cm x 5cm. I stuck a few strips of layered cardboard (cut from craft supply boxes) to the back of that strip to give my paper piece height, once I was happy with the position I stuck this section in place, then I positioned/tucked the fussy cut flowers in place. Again once I was happy I glued them down. I added in little strips of the leftover ‘Sunny Days’ paper, but this time I flipped them over and used the spotted side to add a little contrast. I need a few more flowers, so I fussy cut some elements from the AB Studio ‘Never-never Land’ – Sheet 5 – A Wonderful Day. Tucking and gluing once happy.

ab studio never never land sunny days 02 - AB Studio | Never - Never Land | US Layout | Kim Ewins

Next, I found some old lace in my stash and tucked that in here and there. I then stuck my photo in place, so I could get a feel for how much more I needed to add.

For this layout I didn’t feel the need to add any background mixed media work, like texture paste through a stencil or even gesso, I felt the flowers and base paper were enough but I did feel it needed something else…

Stamping!!! That’s what I could do! I found this old Prima stamp I’ve had forever, inked it up using archival black ink and went around the outer edge and also around the edges of some of my stuck down strips.

ACC abstudio n n land lo1cu1 300x199 - AB Studio | Never - Never Land | US Layout | Kim Ewins

Next I added  two of the Annabelle Acrylic Sketched Hearts, sticking down once happy with placement. I also spread some Prima Marketing Art Ingredient Art Stones in and around my project. I also created a few bottle green rosettes from some satin seam binding and added those to my layout. I stuck down a few random sized pearls, (As my daughter wore pearls on her wedding day!)

The ‘US’ title is cut from the cover sheet from the AB Studio packaging, it had the word ‘Bonus’ so I just cut out the ‘US’ and used that adding a little matt to the back, with a bit of cardboard stuck between to add height.
