Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet Mini Album
Hello friends! Today I have my last share using the gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio Simple & Sweet collection my Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet Mini Album. I love mini albums for documenting events and scrapping multiple photos (and scrap those photos that perhaps are not good enough to take centre stage on a traditional layout). I have recently returned from a holiday in Croatia, and we had two days hiking in the beautiful Plitvice Lakes and my Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet Mini Album is documenting this.
I have used a basic mini album with cover from the Silhouette store. Of course you can create an album with out a cut file by choosing your size, cut, score and fold. I always add machine stitching to reinforce my mini albums.
I used the 6×6 inch paper pad to create my album and pages. I chose three colours/patterns.
I had the die cut pack, puffy stickers and chipboard stickers from the collection all set out ready to go as I embellished each page. For my journalling I used my typewriter.
In mini albums I love flaps and below you will see I created a 2 inch square and the cut another 1.5 inches sewing the top piece only. I then added my photo to the smaller square and under the flap I added a word sentiment and hearts from the gold accent puffy stickers.
To make my photos also little more visually interesting I print two of the same photo, one slightly larger than the other and foaming taping the smaller photo onto the larger one.
I created a pocket page, which if you are doing by hand and not using a cut file simply use a 1.5 inch circle punch, and punch half way at the top and adhere three sides. I created a tag to fit into here, which I added machine stitching as well as a heart puffy sticker and word sentiment. I will add some hand writing to it.
Here you will see I made an accordion page and adhered to the album page, this meant I could add multiple photos both sides and then it folds back to a 2 inch square.
I ensure that I document locations, dates, highlights and often add keepsakes such as tickets or receipts. I have used lots of contrasting colours in this album so each page has its own visual impact. I can be hard to embellish such a small space, but adding things such as machine stitching, elements being foam taped, paint splatters all work well without over doing it.
This where I would like to add I did deserve the ice cream after all this hiking!!! On the below page you will see I fussy cut some black/white flowers from the 6×6 pad and adhered to the top corner.
I used blue cardstock for the cover of my Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet Mini Album as it is sturdier than patterned paper. I have used tiny Velcro dots so the album can be opened and closed with ease (these are cheap and readily available at spotlight and are self adhesive). I have some patterns paper strips to break up the blue and then added some puffy stickers, word, lemon and phrase.
When I had competed my Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet Mini Album I went through and added Tonic Studios NUVO white gloss to flower centres, hearts, glasses of lemonades etc, I love the dimension and highlights it adds.
The embellishments from this collection are so beautiful, perfect for a mini album, and the papers would work with many themes, they certainly were perfect to document my holiday.
