Kim here with you today to share with you my first creation using the Prima Marketing, Darcelle collection.
This collection from Prima Marketing is just stunning! The papers are nothing less than what one would expect from Prima, with a gorgeous array of coordinating flowers, a ephemera pack and crystals to make any project, pop!
Today I have a layout to share. This layout captures my daughter, Sidney when she studied for her HSC. Let me share my layout with you….. ‘Wherever You Go’
For this layout I chose the Prima Darcelle – Plot Twist paper (B side), to use as my base, as I wanted to keep this layout soft and neutral, plus I didn’t want to cover up too much of the beautiful design on the paper.
I decided to use some of the packaging that the Prima Darcelle – Ephemera 39/pkt came in (cardboard section). I laid it out flat and stuck some cardboard to the back of it. I then added some cardboard to the back of my photo and using double sided tape stuck these in place on my base paper.
I then went in and added a variety of large and small cream flowers from the Prima Darcelle Flower packs. I also added in some lace from my stash, a touch of chipboard and I also tucked in a little muslin, here and there!
Next I Took the Prima Darcelle paper -The Biggest Steps of Your Life and cut out the ‘Wherever You Go, Go With All Your Heart’ quote. So perfect for this layout! I added some cardboard to the back, distressed the edges and glued it in place on my project.
I then added some pieces from the Prima Darcelle Ephemera pack that I thought suited the photo and stuck them in place. I’m not a huge fan of the white borders around some of the pieces so I cut that off, before I add to my project. (I have done this with the butterflies).
Looking through the Prima Darcelle – Puffy Stickers I notice the FOCUSED. INTELLIGENT. MOTIVATED one and knew it had to be on this layout as it describes my girl so very well, so I positioned it on the lower edge of my photo. Next I randomly added some Prima Darcelle Say It In Crystals.
I still felt like my layout needed more….. I grabbed some Prima Finnabair Art Basics – Heavy Gesso – White and a piece of cardboard and added a border around my photo, I repeated this process around the stuck down packaging and roughly 1cm in from the edge of my base paper. Still needed more so, using a gold gel pen I added more borders, close to the gesso ones and I also used gel pen to go around the edge of some of my ephemera elements. Lastly, I smeared and splattered a little watered down gesso around my page, making sure to cover my photo.
The Prima Darcelle Collection is just beautiful and I am looking forward to sharing more of this gorgeous collection with you!
I do hope you have enjoyed reading about how my layout came together!
Until next time
